  • If your account begins with 01-07, your due date is every 25th of the month. If your account begins with 08-15, your due date is every 5th of the month. If your account begins with 16-23, your due date is every 15th of the month.

  • To re-instate services, you will need to pay the re-connect fee, past due balance and a deposit upgrade if not up to date with current rates in effect (Ordinance 2409F>Section A-3)

  • After a cutoff takes place, the customer has 5 business days to pay the re-connect fee, past due balance, and deposit upgrade (if applicable). After the 5th business day, the meter is removed from the service address and the fee to re-instate services is now $50.00 plus the past due balance on the account and deposit upgrade if applicable.

  • To obtain a police report, please visit the Records Department at San Benito Police Department headquarters with a form of proper identification. The Department headquarters is located at 601 N Oscar Williams Rd, San Benito, TX 78586.

  • You can visit San Benito Police Department headquarters at 601 North Oscar Williams Rd. San Benito, Texas 78586 or by calling police dispatch to place a call for service. In certain situations, an officer may handle the call over the phone, but will respond to your residence to process a crime scene or if police intervention is necessary. You can reach us for non-emergencies (956) 361-3880. For emergencies please dial 9-1-1.

  • The 2022 Christmas Parade is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, December 10 at 6 p.m. in downtown San Benito on Sam Houston Blvd.

  • You can borrow a trap to safely capture an animal at large from our Animal Control Division. The Animal Control Division operates normally on Monday-Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. The Animal Control Division can be reached at (956) 361-3880 by leaving a message or by emailing the City's Animal Control Supervisor Police Lieutenant Eloy Martinez at emartinez@cityofsanbenito.com . We ask for your patience as there may be a wait time for a city owned trap. Keep in mind that certain wild animals native to the area such as opossums and raccoons will not be picked up by our animal control division.

  • The Fire Dept. is not equipped to remove wasps, does not respond to bees outside the City Limits, nor can they remove honey bees located inside the walls of a structure. An exterminator will have to be called. For honey bee removal from trees or the exterior walls of a structure, you can call the San Benito Police and Fire Dispatcher at 956-361-3880.

  • A: Pony Baseball and Softball are youth sports programs designed to provide children with a fun, safe, and structured environment to learn and play baseball and softball. These programs focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship while encouraging healthy physical activity. Players of all experience levels are welcome, and the leagues offer opportunities for kids to grow, compete, and enjoy the game in a positive community setting.

  • A: Registration for the 2026 Spring Pony Baseball and Softball season is $30 per child. This fee helps cover league expenses and ensures a fun, safe, and well-organized experience for all players.

  • A: The registration fee covers your child’s participation in the 2026 Spring Pony Baseball and Softball season. To help support our youth, it also includes a team shirt and a cap for each player.

Occasionally, there may be opportunities for teams to play against neighboring communities. If that happens, your child’s coach will notify you with all the details.

  • A: Games for the 2026 Spring Pony Baseball and Softball season will be held Monday through Friday. The earliest game will start at 6:00 p.m., and the latest game will end by 9 p.m. Coaches will provide the full schedule to parents before the season begins.

  • A: Yes! The 2026 Spring Pony Baseball and Softball season will include both opening and closing ceremonies. During the opening ceremony, players are welcomed to the league, teams are introduced, and there’s usually a fun group activity to kick off the season. The closing ceremony celebrates everyone’s hard work, sportsmanship, and achievements, often including team awards, recognition of players, and a chance for families to come together and celebrate a fun season.

  • A: Coaches in the Pony Baseball and Softball program are volunteers who generously give their time to support our San Benito youth. Each coach will have some of their own players on their team, and additional players will be randomly assigned to help balance teams and ensure every child has a fun and fair experience.

  • A: Generally, yes! Coaches can have their own child and a few other players they know on their team. To keep things fair for all participants, we limit assigning more than five known players to a single team. Any additional spots will be filled with players randomly assigned to ensure balanced and fun teams for everyone.

  • A: You will receive emails from the City of San Benito Parks and Recreation Department, which coordinates with the coaches. After that, your child’s coach will set up a group chat or another method to communicate directly with their team about schedules, updates, and other important information, including practice times and locations.

  • A: Practice times are determined by each team’s coach. The City of San Benito will make Stookey Park available for team practices, scheduled around game times. Your child’s coach will share the specific practice schedule with you once teams are formed.

  • A: The City of San Benito Parks and Recreation Department will provide each team with catcher’s gear for use during the season. All issued equipment must be returned to the department at the conclusion of the season. Players are welcome to bring their own Pony-approved equipment if they prefer to use gear they are comfortable with, such as bats, gloves, or helmets.
