Suggestions
Firefighting is a technical field and requires a certain measure of education, strength, and stamina. It is recommended that prospective candidates prepare for the examination.
It is recommended you seek and use a preparation guide for the written examination. The test consists of Reading Comprehension, Basic Math and Algebra, and some "Common Sense" principles.
The Physical Agility portion is one of the more rigorous tests in the Valley. A person cannot be sedentary and expect to perform well. It is recommended that you exercise regularly, to include cardiovascular and strength training.
