In partnership with the Mexican Consulate at Brownsville, we present La Frontera a Través del Ojo de las Mujeres (The Border Through the Eyes of Women). An opening reception is scheduled Nov. 8 from 6-9pm at the museum, 250 E. Heywood St.
The exhibit highlights the works of three contemporary photographers including Pu Chen whose bold colored photographs depict abstract to representational imagery of the regional borderland; Brenda Bazán who explores an understanding of the environment, unveiling the beauty of the world through its people; and Verónica G. Cárdenas who brings awareness to the struggle of immigrants on the border, from a conceptual standpoint.
The artists will be available to discuss their work.
The San Benito Cultural Heritage Museum is located at 250 E. Heywood St., San Benito, TX. Hours of operation are Thursday – Saturday, 10 am – 4 pm.
